Everything in a name but Angelo Mathews won’t name his son Jacques
English poet William Shakespeare did say,“what’s in a name?” But if the same question is posed to Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews, he would say,“everything is in a name.”
We have not yet finalised the name,” Mathews, who came with his wife to the Taj Samudra last week, said 30-year-old Mathews and his wife are yet to decide the name of their first son who was born about a month ago. “We have not yet finalised the name,” Mathews, who came with his wife to the Taj Samudra last week, said exclusively.
They have, however, confirmed the name of their son would not be Jacques. Mathews is a great admirer of former South African cricketer Jacques Kallis and it was reported in the media that he may decide to name his son after his favourite cricketer. “No, the name will not be Jacques.
We are looking at various options and then will decide the name.” When asked why not an Indian name, to which Angelo said, “why not a Sri Lankan name?”.
