Jadeja: ‘Topping ICC ranking is more important than MoM and MoS awards’
Ravindra Jadeja is on top of the world’s 10 Test bowlers has given his family more happiness than the Man of the Match and Man of the Series awards he won against Australia on Monday.
“The two awards- MoM and MoS he won are good but we are happier because he has topped the TCC Test ranking for the bowlers”, Naina Jadeja, his sister, speaking exclusively over her mobile from Rajkot, said on Monday evening.
“This is because MoM and MoS are restricted to that particular match or series but heading the ICC ranking worldwide will remain on his name till other bowler topples him and we wish he remains on top for a longer time”, sheadded.
Explaining the way of celebration when her brother scores fifty or hundred, Naina says, “waving the sword in the air is a Rajputani style. It is in our blood and culture. When we conquer we celebrate the victory in this fashion”.
Jadeja’s family members were not present at Dharamshala. “My brother comes under pressure when we are at the ground and therefore we generally avoid going to the stadium when he is in the team”.
The another reason for Jadeja’s wife Ribaba to be at Rajkot (at her mother’s place) is because she is expecting the first child. The delivery is likely to take place in the month of May.
“My brother will now be focusing on IPL. He is playing for Gujarat Lions (under Suresh Raina). The CSK ban will be over this year and we wish Gujarat Lions wins the IPL final in its second and last year”, she signed off.
