In an exciting turn of events for Pakistan cricket, the national team has announced its squad for the upcoming five-match T20 series against New Zealand. This series marks a significant moment as Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim make their much-awaited return to the side, with Amir’s comeback being his first since 2020 and Wasim’s since 2023.

“The decision to include Imad Wasim and Mohammad Amir was a straightforward one, given their availability for selection and considering Haris Rauf’s injury and Mohammad Nawaz’s current form,” selector Wahab Riaz stated, highlighting the strategic reasoning behind their selection.

Behind the scenes, there’s been a shuffle in the coaching department. Azhar Mahmood takes over as the head coach, an interim position that sees him depart from his role at Surrey. New Zealand’s tour to Pakistan is scheduled to start on 14 April, with T20 matches in Rawalpindi and Lahore set to run from 18 to 27 April.
