Last month saw Vaughan and Flintoff on opposing sides in a Young Lions Invitational XI versus England Under-19s match. Vaughan scored an impressive 85 runs from 83 balls, contributing to the Invitational XI’s total of 288 all out. Flintoff responded with a remarkable 106, steering the England side to a narrow two-wicket victory in the 50-over game.
Club Contracts and Future Prospects
Both Vaughan and Flintoff have secured professional contracts with their respective counties. Vaughan signed a two-year deal with Somerset in May, while Flintoff agreed to terms with Lancashire in June. Flintoff has also been playing alongside his 18-year-old brother Corey at Old Trafford and made a century for Lancashire’s 2nd XI against Warwickshire at Edgbaston in April.
